Rosary Spence

Rosary Spence is a traditional vocalist with a powerhouse of a voice and soulful Indigenous styles. She is Cree from Fort Albany First Nation, a remote community on the western shores of James Bay in northern Ontario. Rosary strongly believes in the ability to heal our communities through ancient land-based practices, ceremony, traditional medicines from the land, and through the wisdom of our Elders. Singing has been a lifetime journey for Rosary, as she finds healing through sharing her story and her songs to the world through ceremony, performance, and teaching. Rosary also possesses an extensive background and experience as a designer, a performing artist, and an arts facilitator. Currently residing in Scarborough, Ontario, where she is raising her family, Rosary also works within the Indigenous community as a social worker, traditional Knowledge Keeper, and traditional counselor, and is also highly active within the arts community.
