Dani D’Emilia
Dani d’Emilia is an artist and educator working in the fields of performance, visual art, devised theatre, radical pedagogy and social justice. She is particularly interested in embodied political-affective practices that merge artistic, activist and spiritual realms, and has been developing a vast body of work around the concept-practice of ‘Radical Tenderness’. Dani is a co-founder of the immersive theatre company Living Structures (UK) and the art space Roundabout.lx (PT). She was a core member of the performance collectives La Pocha Nostra (MX/US) between 2011-2016 and the duo Proyecto Inmiscuir (MX/ES) between 2015-2017. Since 2017 Dani has been working as part of the collective Gesturing Towards Decolonial Futures and during 2018-19, with the support of Musagetes, she began collaborating with Vanessa Andreotti on the artistic-pedagogic investigation, “Engaged dis-identifications,” which was developed in close relation to Dani’s work with ANDlab (Research Centre for Art-Thinking & Politics of Togetherness) with whom she has been creating a series of pedagogical experiments around the expansion of intimacy through practices of dis-immunization and dis-solution.
